Ingredients: pretzels, oil, ranch, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and dill weed.

    Ingredients

    • Pretzels (sticks, twists, or butter snaps) are the base of the recipe, providing a crunchy texture and salty flavor.
    • Oil (canola, vegetable, popcorn oil, or light olive oil) helps the seasoning stick to the pretzels and adds a slight richness.
    • Ranch dressing mix adds a tangy, herby flavor that forms the base of the seasoning. (Feel free to use homemade ranch dressing mix if desired.)
    • Lemon pepper seasoning gives a zesty, citrusy kick with a hint of spice.
    • Garlic powder enhances the savory flavor with a subtle garlic note.
    • Dried dill weed adds a fresh, herbal flavor that complements the ranch mix.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Amish Seasoned Pretzels

Step 1: Prepare the Pretzels - Pour the pretzels into a large mixing bowl (affiliate link), making sure there's enough room to toss them.

Step 2: Mix the Seasoning - In a small bowl or glass pitcher, combine the oil, ranch dressing mix, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and dill weed. Stir until well blended.

Step 3: Coat the Pretzels - Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the pretzels. Then gently toss the pretzels (I use my rubber spatula - affiliate link) to make sure they are evenly coated with the seasoning. Another option would be to place everything in a large ziplock bag and gently shake it or flip it until everything is coated.

Step 4: Let the Flavors Soak In - Set the pretzels aside (uncovered), stirring them every 15 minutes for about an hour, until the oil is fully absorbed.

Step 5: Store and Enjoy - Transfer the seasoned pretzels to an airtight container and enjoy as a flavorful snack! I find these pretzels are better on the second day, as the flavors have more time to get into the pretzels.

Do I Need to Bake Ranch Seasoned Pretzels?

No, you don't need to bake seasoned pretzels. The pretzels stay crunchy because the oil and seasoning only coat the surface. As they sit and absorb the flavors, they won't become soggy. Just stir them every 15 minutes to help distribute the seasoning.

While a little oil might soak in, the pretzels stay crunchy, and the seasoning sticks to every bite. They'll stay crispy and flavorful without baking!

Can I Use Different Kinds of Pretzels?

Yes, you can use different kinds of pretzels! Whether you prefer pretzel sticks, twists, butter snaps, or even pretzel crisps, they all work well with the seasoning. I prefer smaller pretzels rather than fat ones because you get more seasoning with each pretzel. Feel free to choose the type you like best for a tasty snack!

Hi, I’m Anna. I grew up Amish in the Lancaster County, Pa. area (the heart of Amish country). I currently live in a small rural town in Missouri and am a homeschool mom to 4 great kids. Some of my favorite things to do are spending time in the kitchen, (baking and preparing meals from scratch), gardening, and spending time with my lovely family.
