Old-fashioned Amish cherry delight is an easy, 9x13", no-bake dessert that features a graham cracker crust, cream cheese filling, and a topping of cherry pie filling.
2 1/2c. graham cracker crumbs (approx. 1 1/2 pkg.)
1/2c.melted butter
1/4c.sugar
Middle Layer:
8oz.cream cheese, softened
1/2c.powdered sugar
1tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2c.heavy whipping cream (or 8 oz. Cool Whip)
Top Layer:
2canscherry pie filling
Instructions
Bottom Layer:
Crush graham crackers and mix with melted butter and sugar.
2 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs (approx. 1 1/2 pkg.), 1/2 c. melted butter, 1/4 c. sugar
Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a 9x13" dish.
Middle Layer:
Beat cream cheese until creamy. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla.
8 oz. cream cheese, softened, 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Add the heavy whipping cream and mix. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, then whip on high speed until thick and creamy. (If using Cool Whip, thaw and stir it into the cream cheese mixture to mix.)
1 1/2 c. heavy whipping cream (or 8 oz. Cool Whip)
Drop the cream cheese mixture by large spoonfuls over the crust and carefully spread in an even layer.
Top Layer:
Spread two cans of pie filling over the top.
2 cans cherry pie filling
Cover and refrigerate for several hours before serving.
Keep refrigerated.
Notes
Use up to 3/4 c. of melted butter in the crust, if desired. And you can substitute chocolate grahams or vanilla wafers for the honey grahams.If you like a thicker cheesecake filling, use 2 pkg. of cream cheese.And you can top this dessert with any pie filling that you like.
